FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should we have a wedding video produced?
Everybody considers professional photographs to be an essential part of a wedding service to supply a great record of the day for yourself and others to enjoy in the future.  Professional video offers something different to photographs, you can’t hang it on the wall but it will always bring back the memories of your day flooding back in a way that a photo will never be able to do.  I read that at a wedding fair a presenter said “I am holding two boxes. One contains your great-grandparents’ wedding photos, and the other contains their wedding video. You can open only one. Which do you choose?”  The audience choice was unanimous, everyone chose the video.
Why use a professional videographer?

It takes many years of experience and passion to be able to constantly produce beautifully shot and crafted videos. Knowing where to be and always being there to capture the important moments is a key benefit of a professional.

Will you get in the way?

My absolute primary focus is to have the absolute minimal impact on the day – I want to capture events as naturally as if I wasn’t there.  Being a camera conscious person myself I am always evaluating my approach on the day and asking myself  ‘Would I be happy with this if I was on the other side of the camera?’.  Over many years and literally hundreds of weddings I have refined my approach using that aim and feedback from photographers would suggest I am one of the most discreet wedding videographers the vast majority have ever worked with

Can we request a sample DVD

I am very proud of my finished DVD’s and would love you to see one for yourself.  I can post sample DVD’s or I can bring you one if we arrange a meeting. For privacy reasons I do not show any full length examples of bridal preparations however you can get a good idea of that to expect from my two most recent highlight videos.

What format do I receive my video on ?

As the days of DVD’s are now long behind us we now provide all our videos on a USB stick.  We always shoot in full HD but the limitations of the DVD format resulted in a small loss in quality due to the compression required to make it fit.

The larger 16GB capacity means we can export the videos at the highest quality possible. The sticks themselves are made from high quality maple and use a standard USB 3 connection so you can just plug straight in to your Smart TV or media centre. There is also no encryption so you can make as many copies as you like. The video files will be numbered so will play in sequence and allow you to skip scenes like chapters on a DVD.

If you would still like to receive a DVD this is still something we can do so just let us know!
